The Definitive Collection
Topic Records is trots op hun uitzonderlijke stal aan Britse folkmusici. Geregeld verschijnen er Topic-verzamelaars met muziek van mensen als June Tabor, John Tams, Martin Carthy etc. Eerder dit jaar bleek culmineerde dit in de prachtige verzamelaar The Acoustic Folk Box (4cd) samengesteld door David Suff. Nu is er een soort mini-uitvoering uitgebracht onder de noemer The Defintive Folk Collection. Met 17 nummers natuurlijk verre van compleet, maar toch een mooie afspiegeling van wat de Britse folk te bieden heeft. Bovendien is de cd op een aangename manier samengesteld, zodat het lekker luisteren is. Voor nieuwelingen in de folk biedt het een aardige kennismaking.
