Sinikka Langeland:
I never dreamed about winning the Edvard Prize
De Noorse Sinikka Langeland is zangeres en bespeelster van de 39-snarige concert-kantele. Zij viel al eerder op met produkties als "Har an lyttet til elvene om natta" (1995) en Lille Rosa (2000). Haar nieuwe CD "Runoja" (Heilo HCD 7180) die dit jaar uitkwam is een zeer bijzondere. Ze kreeg er de belangrijke Edvard Prijs voor. Reden genoeg om haar te vragen naar haar mooste muziek moment van afgelopen jaar.
A very important moment for me was when I got Edvard prize this automn for Runoja, (named after Edvard Grieg) It was given in competition with Nils Petter Molvær and Mari Boine for music in borderline. I never even dreamed about this...
Then I must say to listen to celloplayer Truls Mørk in a TV portrett shaked me again, and I get both angry and happy because it goes to the marrow of my bones and on the other side I get so angry because I realize that I can never reach his level...
On the automn tour with Runoja I got a deep fantastic feeling that the band is growing and that I am growing with it.
