Afgelopen woensdag zijn de jaarlijkse BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards uitgereikt. Winnaars in 2019 zijn o.a. Ríoghnach Connolly (Folk Singer of the Year), Catrin Finch & Seckou Keita (Best Duo, Keita werd ook Musician of the Year) en Karine Polwart (Best Original Track). Lifetime Achievement Awards waren er voor Dervish en Wizz Jones, singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen wed opgenomen in The Hall Of Fame.
